Default Hand control reverse compatability?

I've got 95 and down hand controls with an 11/16" MC (dual disc) front end. I just saw someone selling a 96+ 11/16" MC and am wondering if this newer MC and lever would fit with my older style switches? My bars are internally wired so I don't want to pull them out but the old style MC is huge and takes up a lot of space visually. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it can work. The 96+ master and lever will bolt onto your 95 bars and function with your dual disc. The main issue is your old switches won't physically bolt onto the new lever perch. The switch mounting is different between those years. You'd either need to swap to 96+ switches (requiring bar re-wiring) or use an aftermarket switch kit that clamps to the bar separately. So, you can't directly keep your old switches on the new MC assembly.
