Default Winter anxiety

Is it just me, or this winter dragging along. Haven't been out on the bike for about two months due to the northeast winter and work. To cold to work on the bike in the garage, not much needs to be done anyhow. Just booked my hotel for May in Myrtle Beach for bike week. Getting a little stir crazy.

Panhandle hasn’t had winter. There are geese in my pond and back acre. Whitetails butting heads and dancing like it’s late April. Golf courses opening up for walking, push carts only. Ground is soft, never froze. One storm weeks ago of 3” wet heavy snow, now gone.

Last week, they said finally a storm coming with snow. Not here, it dissipated, maybe some heavy wet snow up in the mountains behind me. Rivers down, pond down, CdA fishable, salmon area too low.

Bike is ready, some are riding, but I’ve waited this long, I can hold off til March.

Normal would be about 6 feet already on the ground, about 8-12” frozen soil underneath, and a couple more good snow storms due the first weeks of March.

I’m not putting the tracked snowblower away yet, but I’m glad I never put the snow plow blade on the tractor.

So, the social order is screwed, the weather is screwed, all of Epstein’s fish are screwed, thank goodness my only job left to do before the season is that stupid ABS flush and reset. Just another reason to hate Harleys current designs. Aired the tires today, well didn't need to. Still 40/39. Almost decided to wash and wax everything, but I have better sense than to do that today.

It’s overcast and 37F. Nahh, I’ll wait til March.

5 weeks until spring.
Jan 9th it was 58 degrees here in Detroit so it's only been a month. One more to go.

The Impala is kind of apart at the moment. To cold to finish what I started, but spring is getting here. Have the hood off, motor and transmission out. Repainting engine bay, updating wiring harness, just finished painting the engine. Replacing the old cast iron power glide with a manual 4 speed, all the new pedals and linkage are in the car now. Just a stock 283, but it is very reliable to drive, im at a point that I dont need to drive fast.

Mid-Minnesota....winter sucks.

A couple bikes out today, I won't be out until April / May. Winter project completed (compensator swap out).
