Pingel petcock repair
- For those that have a pingel fuel tap that won't shut off or leaks, but don't want to spend $100+ dollars for a five pack to repair it here is a cheap solution. All you need is (one) 1/2"od x 3/8"id o ring and (two) 7/16" x 1/4" o rings. I went to Ace hardware and bought them.I cleaned and reused the filter screen. I don't know how long black rubber o rings will last but I can replace them with fuel resistant o rings later.

ihad to send mine in last year.. Works great again.. Who cares about the shipping..
I did have a couple petcocks that had to drill out rivets and tap for small screws to replace. But most are rebuildable.
Not sure about the O-rings you purchased, but it's best to make sure that you get proper ones that are fuel compatible. I use MS29513 series O-rings and have tubs of them.
But for reference -
The best O-rings for fuel applications are made from FKM (VitonŽ), NBR (nitrile rubber), or fluorosilicone due to their resistance to gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and biodiesel.
