So this is my first year going there..Whats hot? and whats not? Anything I should defiantly hit? Found a place about 3 miles from the Convention Center. And on the plus side there a shaker bar next door...just in case it rains some
I doubt if I will ever go back to Daytona. I wanna ride not sit I would like to go to Myrtle beach at least once just to check it out. I may also go to Biketoberfest and give it a fair shake but Im not hell bent on going back to bike week just yet.
I went to Myrtle last year for the first time. It was awesome. Lots of riding and sitting only if you wanted to. That's my take on Daytona too, whenever you hear about it or see it on TV, it's somebody sleeping on their bike. I was only there for one day though, I had to work either side of it. Closed work Wed, Went down 5:00am Thurs, got home 11:30 Fri night. 862 miles in 42 hours or so. Anyway, it was a blast, going back this year, for at least a week.
I'll ride down for the day, but won't be staying the night (unless something unusual happens?).
I live just north of Wilmington, NC, about a two hour ride to MB. I'll probably ride with a local HOG group.
Lot's of great day rides to do from MB. Myrtle Beach is kind of a shithole tourist trap imo. Bike Week is one of the few good things it has going for it. Get out and get away from MB and see the real Carolina Coast; MB is like the twilight zone of SC & NC.
We're staying thru the 19th I think. Get a bit of the end of the week crowd.
I know what ya mean about Daytona. Way too crowded on Main St. and forget about getting in any of the famous watering holes. Biketober is a lot lower key. Better weather too. We're starting to plan a trip there this year again.
Hey? Anyone do Americade? Some of the best riding roads in the north east. (and never any trouble getting a beer!)
