Aloha,
I have a 1987 FXRC and the Speedometer stopped working. Any one know of a good way of determining which component died? Speedo, Cable, or Drive Unit? Also a recommendation of a site to get replacement parts?
Unfortunately for me, it's not the cable but the drive unit. Looks like I'll have to borrow someone's lift and work on the front end. I guess it's a good time to replace the pads too.[8D] Thanks for the help.
Check on the wheel side of the drive unit. There's a tab that has to fit in a slot in the wheel so it can turn the gears in the drive unit and if it comes out of the slot, it will bend and not turn the unit. May be a simple solution.
