Default handlebar question.

I just got my first Harley, it's a Nightster. I used to have a metric cruiser. I am wanting to change the handlebars to a drag or broomstick bars. I have found some online. My question is do Harley bars have to be 'drilled' and 'dimpled'? If so, why?

Some do some don't. It depends if you by them predrilled and dimpled or not. As for the why, you only have to drill them if you're planning on routing the handlebar wiring on the inside of the handlebars. The dimples allow for the "lump" of wiring at the grip end to pass through the handlebars. If you're not planning on wiring them internally, you don't have to have holes.
