Default Electraglide Headlight Trim Ring

Ok...I know I'm gonna get slammed for asking such a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway. I removed my headlight the other day and the trim ring has a spring clip at the top that I bent up when I removed it. Does anybody have a picture or diagram that shows how that clip is supposed to be installed so I can make sure I have it back together the right way.

Thanks,

Big O

i think the clip just sandwiches around the tab with the hole in it and screw goes throughfront and screws into the threaded part on backside, thus holding it tight. hopefully you didn't break off the little tab.i stripped mine taking it off before. so far it holds it but not real tight.one of these days i'll get a new one. shouldn't be too hard to figure out. they are pretty common in the auto industry. good luck

Mine just has one screw at the bottom, I think the spring clip is supposed to fit into the tab at the top with the slotted hole to hold the top in secure. I just can't figure out how the spring clip attaches at the top since I bent it up. That's why I really wanted a diagram or a picture of it.

Thanks,

O

ok, i thought you were talking about where the screw goes, your talking about the wire retainer. i just looked at my 06 touring service manual and it does not have a pic or diagram. it just says to hook or unhook it. take trim ring to dealer and ask to see pic of it and bend it back to match.
