Default Harley recall?

Anybody hear about a recall that applies to 2001 - 2003 (??) Road Kings? Something to do with a 40mph breaker (??) cutting out, causing the bike to stall at 40 mph or above? (never heard of this particular device - my brother was telling me about this possible recall earlier today; he wasn't sure)

Just thought I'd check with you guys, and I definitely don't want to start up anything.[&:]

some things I found on a quick search:

http://www.riderreport.com/output.cfm?id=805717
http://www.stjoeharleydavidson.com/n...le.asp?id=1971
http://www.americanmotor.com/news.cfm?newsid=2249

thks,
Jim

You would think that would have been well communicated when the problem arose.

True, but sometimes a bike gets sold or something and has'nt had the update passed on to the new owner.

Definitely get the breaker replaced. It's real EZ to do yourself if the stealer wants to charge you to do it. I had mine fail on my 2000 FLHTC at night doing about 45MPH in town. It was like someone had turned off the entire bike. The lights went out (that was scary) and the engine stopped running. Fortunately I was quick to pull in the clutch and managed to coast to the side of the road safely. I cycled the ignition switch to the off position, waited 15 seconds or so and cycled it to the on position. The lights came on and it started right up. I took the shortest route home and parked it till I could figure what had gone wrong. My model and year was not a part of the recall but I experienced the problem. I'm just glad I wasn't doing 65 on the interstate at night in the left lane next to a semi... things could have turned out very differently. I think the MOCO should have expanded the recall.
