I use the 3m stuff too. I've never had a problem with it and it has never seemed to hurt any kind of paint i got it on. It does dry your skin out like a **** though! Where some rubber gloves.
1. Use some fishing line or dental floss to see saw the stuff off
2. Try soaking it in WD-40 and then peeling off with a rag
3. Goo Be Gone
4. Acetone (but keep it away from paint
5. Heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun
6. Barke fluid...may cut it
6. Stop at any Indy or dealer and ask
All of the above and......pick it off with your finger nail
After seeing all the great suggestions, I thought I'd ask a question about brake fluid. I know DOT 3 will strip paint, but DOT 5 silcone fluid doesn't seem to have had any effect on any of my paint over the years. What about DOT 4? Does it eat paint? How 'bout a volunteer, maybe one of you guys with an '03 with silver paint?
