Default Trouble with Corbin

I have a Corbin solo saddle, drivers backrest, sissy bar backrest, 50's pillion, standard pillion and an EZ-Fill. I would say that I am a pretty good Corbin customer, wouldn't you? This company is the most dysfunctional company that I have ever done business with. When I ordered my 1st pillion, they made it wrong. It had to go back so they could drill the proper mounting hole and then send it back. Then I ordered another, different pillion! We told them, 2006 HD Deluxe....don't forget that you got the fitment wrong on the first one and please refer back to the first one so this one is correct. They said "no problem" Guess what......PROBLEM! They did the same thing. So, after 4 to 6 weeks "again" of waiting for the seat, it had to go back for THE SAME REASON AS THE FIRST ONE! I just purchased an EZ-FILL from them so I could change my primary fluid without taking off the derby cover. The $100.00 part came in a taped up package and was scratched. I put it on and the primary fluid is leaking out of the cap because the rubber O-ring isn't large enough to seal it tight. Two and a half weeks we are waiting for a new cap and I sent Mike Corbin an E-mail! Of course, I get NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE so, I call. I get someone on the phone named Nina. She tells me that she has been dealing with my local dealer and the cap went out yesterday, regular mail. I asked her why it didn't go out 2 and a half weeks ago when my dealer called and she said "I was too busy". When I said, "You've got to be kidding, I have primary fluid leaking out of this thing all over the place.....WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SEND IT WHEN YOU GOT THE CALL" She responded, "can't you just understand that I am very busy". She also told me that the reason the package was opened and re-taped was because all of the EZ-Fill's have to be opened and checked to make sure that the cap fits and has the correct O-ring. Well, they opened mine and didn't make sure the cap fit! So why bother opening it. I have personally witnessed many products from Corbin that were shipped wrong, didn't fit, were made wrong, painted wrong, had the wrong hardware etc. etc. How this company stays in business is beyond me! If someone knows Mike Corbin, tell him he needs to rein in his people......a business can only survive for so long when the cart is leading the horse. They make the best seats but, I will no longer deal with them and from the threads that I have been reading on other sites, I think many people feel the same way.

UPDATE: I finally received the new Cap for the EZ-Fill after three weeks. It actually fits and the EZ-Fill is no longer leaking. Still can't figure out why they opened the original package to check the fit and sent it with the loose cap. As is typical with Corbin, and the completely careless customer service supplied by Nina, the cap that arrived looked like she used it to file her nails! It was so scratched that I wouldn't have sent this out to anyone! Oh well, I expect nothing less from Corbin at this juncture. Remember, EVERYTHING that I purchased from them, I purchased through my local dealer here on Long Island, who is a gem of a guy! He feels terrible and embarrassed. The point here is, they did all this to the dealer, it just happened to be my stuff!

I.ve heard several horror stories about Corbin - the do indeed make a fine seat. I had a Stinger on my FXDBI - hands down the finest seat my butt ever covered. I'm now looking at purchasing the thier touring seat for my new FLTR, which retails for more than I paid for my first car. If I do order, I won't wan the back rest slot/flap. Sounds to me like they will likely get this wrong - I wonder if I should concider C.C. or Mustang instead?

I heard you can actually go to the factory and wait for the seat to be fabricated? This might be and option the next time work takes me in that dirrection.

I have dealt with Corbin no customer service horror, horror, horrible how they are still in business is beyond me -- they do make an excellent seat but if you do not go to the store you are taking your chances

I can't say the same. I have always had outstanding service from Corbin and will not run any other saddle. Have even sent them an old seat to have recovered after it was six years old and they did great at a great price.
