Painting my fairing inner
I was considering having my fairing inner on my 08 EGUC painted over the painfully long winter here in Michigan, and had a few questions. I am reasonably mechanically inclined, and incredibly uptight about my bike. As much as I would like to have someone else remove it and reinstall it after paint, I'm too worried about the nicks and scratches that are likely. So, would anyone who has done this themselves let me know how it went? Also, would a shop manual be specific enough to guide me if need be?

Just removed mine on my 08 Ultra to swap out when I get the painted one back. The service manual will show you how to do it. Very easy to do, but takes about two hours taking your time. Have to remove the windshield, outer fairing, ignition, radio and pull the guages. Label the wires from the guages.
