Default fuel consumption

Just got home from Biketoberfest running at 80 mph on I95. I was having to fill up every 100 miles averaging about 26 mpg. Has anyone else checked mileage at this speed. I don't know if this is bad or about average.

26 mpg does not sound to good. Is the motor stock is it fuel injected? If stock really not good. On my 2002 FI RK 95 inch kit and running 90 plus mph I was around 36 to 38 MPG. The worst I ever had was on my 2000 RK 510 S&S cams and a holly two barrel carb was down around 29 - 32. Something is wrong.

Are you injected or Carb?. I run a FLHTCUI (I for injected) and I get about 40 45 per, depending how aggressive I am. Did you check plugs for obvious signs, or what did you check?

I was on a long road trip. 3000 miles. So I had plenty of time to figure out my true mileage. I have a 2004 Fatboy. At 55-60 mph I can get between 47-50 mpg. At 65-75 it goes down to 43-45. If I run 80+ mileage goes down to 36-41. The bike runs great at all speeds and it has these mpg's consitantly. Hope any info here answers some questions.

I average about 38 with my "03 RK Classic. As low as 36 running 80 mph plus all day and as high as 42 cruzing the back roads. That's running California gas. When I went up to Oregon last summer I got closer to 45 running high speed. California gas sucks pond water. BTw, the carb models get better mileage than the fuel injected models do. Go figure!

I have a 2000 Road King, big bore kit, cams and 44 mm carb. I'm in the 36-39 mpg range and this seems low to me. Any comments?
