What is your build on the engine or is it stock?

Ok, stock motor...why do you think it is a compression issue? If it is hard starting the first thing I would check is your battery. If it is old and weak like me it will not give you the voltage necessary and will cause the starter to groan as it tries to roll the motor over. Charge it first as see if that helps. If it doesn't then remove the battery and take it to a shop and have it load tested. Just make sure to pull your maxi fuse before you remove the battery.

thank you brothers for your help...

actually here's why i think my bike's releasing compression...

everytime i turn the ignition and the "kill switch" on then turn them off again then turn them on again, the bike releases compression... it's weird really....

i'm really trying to figure the problem out...

any help will be greatly appreciated...

THANKS!!!

No idea: compression is not an "electrical" symptom so that really would be weird! My
'97 FLSTC is somewhat "cold-blooded" ever since I bought new but improved after disassembling/cleaning carb and proper jetting. First to check is the battery terminal and connections: takes more current to jump a loose connection then a tigh one.

If you are not rolling the starter over that is impossible. If you are rolling the starter then you probably don't have enough voltage. The only way it could release compression is if your engine has an S&S electric compression release on it. Does it have that?
