front fender removal 04 electra glide
got in a pretty nasty wreck a couple days ago, and im trying to remove whats left of my front fender, but there are these brackets behind the bolts that surround the heads of the bolts, how do i remove these?

They are metal tabs that bend over the bolt heads to prevent the bolt heads from backing out should they become loose. Much easier to simply remove the front tire. If you can't remove the front tire, it's a pita, but you can probably get an open end wrench on enough of the bolt head to remove it.

I have a vivid black front fender from my '06 Street Glide with very slight damage on the lower tip at the rear. If you put a fender tip on it you would never know. Or have a body shop sand the edge down smooth and paint for less than $100.
