I posted a similar thread in the Sportster forum and it seems several people are having similar problems. Now I have a slightly different question that might be answered by anyone.
I have a 2005 Sportster XL883C and I need more reach on the handlebars. Harley sells a few bars, but none of them appear to reach any further than the stock bars (which seems odd.) Anyway, I have located numerous bars with proper rise and pullback, but none of them claim to work for the Sportster.
My question, if the measurements work for me, why would a handlebar from another bike fail to work on mine? Are there other minor measurements that I am not considering?
Most any bars should fit fine, but you will probably need to change brake line, clutch cable, throttle and idle cables. Might also have to cut and splice some of the wiring to lengthen it for bars with more rise and pullback.
