I orderd 2 pints of paint through the harley dealer. (50 bucks each) The paint arrived with no reducing instructions. The dealer didn't know so I called Harley in Milwaukee. They also didn't know. It's acrylic lacquer. I just don't want to screw it up. Any ideas what the Lacquer Thinner to Paint ratio should be? Thanks.

 

the paint that I looked at from the dealer came ready to spray, no reducing. Find an auto parts store that sells PPG paints, they can help you.

 

Can you get the paint for an 09 through PPG?

 

1 part paint to 1&1/4 part thinner if it is lacquer.

 

I hope you didnt get lacquer paint, I have seen so many paint jobs that have been painted and then failed due to lacquer, its just not that durable.


Yes you can get the 09 Paints threw PPG, they do harley paints, I painted a tank for a teacher when i was in collage. It was very simple, find someone that has a ppg mixing system, they will tell you all the colors you just have to know the name of the color. I mixed up and painted a tank the cobalt metalic blue its a blue and then purple in the right sun very very beautful color.
