Just installed the skull logo gascap and fuel guage this past weekend. I was real suprised at how much rust there was in the fuel guage location after taking out the stock guage.
Oh i did this on an 03 RoadKing. I had to clean and wire brush this area and then put some metal sealer in to try to stop more rust. I would have thought they would have painted this area, anyhow the install is pretty much plug and play on an 03. But as fate would have it i looked at the pictures, and really didnt read the accompaning info and of course installed the wires into the connector exactly opposite. I tried using a pick to get the wires out of the connector and quickly realized that this aint gonna happen. I ended up cutting the connector off, riding to the motherland for new connectors and carefully redoing the whole thing again making sure that orange to orange, yellow to yellow...yattta yatta...came out nice looking. The LEDs are blue and in bright sunlight they cant be seen very well, but heck i always use the trip odemeter anyhow so.....

For future reference they make pin extractors that slip over the pin but push in the tangs to let you pull the pins out. I think they sell a set of them at Radio Shack. I know thanks for telling me now.
