Sounds like the same stuff with magnets on the fuel like aligning molecules, acetone in the gas, tornados, etc...

I'm sure it runs better, but could it be that you are being more concious of your throttle hand? Also, what did the plugs you took out look like? Could it just be that its a new set of plugs?

I knew I should not have so short in the response . .grin. I have a tendency to make short stories long , anyway.

When I moved here from Guam, here being Albuquerque, I went from sea level to an altitude of 5500 ft. The first thing I did, after my household goods were delivered, was take the bike down to the local dealership so that they could do the 1000 mile service on the bike along with changing out the jets to accomodate this altitude. Later on I found out how they screwed me but that is a different story.

Anyway, after the jet changes I was getting 33-34 mpg which is pretty crappy even with 2-up riding. Since most of my family lives in Phoenix, every 2 months we all plan on trips for long weekends and meet in various mid way places. Pine Top, Showlow, Flagstaff, etc.

2 trips, two months apart, to Flagstaff and all interstate to get there. First trip cruising the speed limit (75) or just a little under I got, round trip, 33.24 mpg. Which, as I said pretty crappy.

In between, there was the Fire and Ice rally in Grants that I went to and while there I saw they were selling these plugs.

So I said what the heck, they were only 10 to 15 bucks and I bought and installed them when we got home. ( Nitro Powers by LEC at WWW.lecryo.com)

Did not pay attenion to mileage although I did notice a littte better throttle response. Come the next trip, did the same route, rode the same way, etc etc. Only difference might have been the weather, instead of 95-100, it was 85-95.

Came back and figured up my mileage and I was running 36.87. Which, in my opinion was still not "good" but liveable.

I now get 41 to 43 mpg but then again that is another story.

All I could contribute to the fact that I was getting better mileage was the plugs. After checking the plugs, which were tan, I was happy. The plugs that I did take out were the Screaming Eagle Platinum ones (TP-12S) were not super dark but a little darker than Tan.

Bottom line I am convinced they do work and am a believer..[sm=smiley4.gif]
