Does anyone else seem to have a fuel tank thats sits crooked?
My 2005 Deluxe fuel tank has crooked mounting wings on the front.
They both slant to the right! making the tank shift left.
Fickin drives me nuts going down the road!
any ideas?
How do I staighten them without trashing paint?
Yeah, my 93 had a thumb and partial palm print in it........Just because it says Harley...doesn't mean it's perfect. Ended getting a new tank under warranty.
If your's is still under warranty, get it replaced. If not try and bend it yourself, protect the paint with duct tape or something. But you're probably gonna find that the tabs are welded on wrong and you're gonna end up ordering a new tank anyway....Should take between four and eight weeks to get 'stock' painted parts from The MoCo. Or you could do like I did for ten years of leaking cylinder base gaskets.....Just point it out to people when they start saying how great Harley-Davidson's are.
