Default Re Starting Problems after running

I have an 08 Road King with just over 10K on the miles, after the bike has run a few min if I shut it off then try and re start the bike doesn't always start up, most times yes but not all the time which makes this harder to track down. All wires and connections are tight. It makes a strange noise, and sometimes I have to keep starter button down longer then normal.

most electrical problems are dirty connections ( which is why swapping parts often 'repairs" a problem, the connections are cleaned and secured when the parts are swapped).

suggest you disconnect the battery cables at the battery end.

disconnect them at the other end ( starter and frame or other chassis connection).

clean the lugs with sandpaper or wire brush ( just brighten them up)

connect everything up again negative cable to the battery - last.

and that might well solve the problem.

bad connections can be made worse with heat ( resistance is higher).

IF you hear a whining noise from the starter and it is not turning- let go the button- the windings are cooking.

Ah, yes; sandpaper. the great equalizer. If only firearms were as easy to fix. (off topic?)
