silver engine touch up
Got a question about silver powder coating touch up. Must have hit something, maybe a large bug or a small bird. Whatever red got on the engine above timing case did not want to come off. I, with help of gasoline or WD 40 got the red off, but have a rub mark. Talked to dealer about some silver powder coat touch up. They could not help. I have seen black touch up at JP, no silver. Any ideas?
Try some anti-seize, the siver metallic color is a very close match, and it is not affected by heat so won't burn off. Will come off with solvent or normal cleaning so don't scrub that area, but easy enough to re-apply! Also check the silver metallic "Testors" paint they use for models, ect.
Reese, thanks for the suggestions. There is touch up paint for black powder coat, JP cycles. The silver color is standard, but the powder appearance is what I need.
At that site found S100 engine restorer, but that appears to be for black engine. Called jp, they don't know of anything. Will keep looking. If just for the principal.
That link above should take you to the silver bead blast engine paint page directly.
