&nbsp\\;I 'd just touch it up with some flat black engine paint. I've heard what's on them\\; called powder coating&nbsp\\;but in chips and scrapes off so easy it has to be some kind of paint&nbsp\\;or it's real cheap powder coating.&nbsp\\;

I had a chip about that size on my ex-Street Bob's primary cover. I touched it up with Rustoleum Satin Black aerosol...I sprayed some onto a piece of cardboard and dipped a artist's/modeler's small paint brush into&nbsp\\;the paint&nbsp\\;and dabbed it onto the spot.After it dried, the chip completely disappeared...I was amazed.

It's paint. Surf is right on the money for touch-ups.
