Ok so I have 14 inch apes on the way. Problem I am running into is, they are 40 inches from tip to tip (LA Choppers). I am looking at the Burly Brand cable kits and I dont know if I should use the 14 inch cable kit, or if I should go up a size since these bars are wider than normal. What do you guys think?
I would buy the next size, those are pretty freakin wide! Not an expert by any means but I put 16's on my RK classic and put the wires inside. I shooulda bought the Burly kit but nooooo...I thought I would save some bucks so I bought the cables, hoses and wire extensions seperately.
I did good on the brakelines, the wires were too long (but the excess hides in the nacelle) and the clutch cable was really tight (who needs to turn right anyway). So now I installed a clutch cable 2" longer and damn if it doesn't seem too long!
