I was considering buying a Burly Kit and doing some apes on my Iron. I am wondering how the cables are as far as value. I once bought Drag Specialty cables and they sucked bad. As soon as I kinked the throttle cable it put a permanent bend in them causing the cable to not be usable. I then ordered a HD cable and the cable did not crease or kink under manipulation. So what is everyone's feedback on Burly's throttle and clutch cables? Thanks for the answers.
My Burley kit works fine, however since I took my bike in for a tune up at Harley, my throttle and idle cable don't work nearly az good as they did when I hookt them up..I think the burley kit works good.
Dont get me wrong, the Burly kit is a nice kit and I have not had any problems.
The creek in my clutch cable has gone away and works better. I had read that sometimes a longer cable can cause that. Here is a post...
I appreciate the input. I ordered a Burly Kit for 12" apes and ordered a set of 12" apes from Biltwell. Can't wait to install these *****. Arizona Bike week is at the end of the month and I want to ride in proper. I've shopped Biltwell before and they never disappoint. I read a review written by someone that purchased the 12" apes from Biltwell and fell out of my chair laughing.
