Shifter
My shifter on my roadking won't stay tight. The bolts are tight but the whole shifter is loose and has play. It looks to me like a spacer is missing but HD tells me that's not the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

I had this same problem when I bought my last bike. I almost lost the heel portion a few times. I took it to the dealer and the mechanic supposedly tightened it as much as he could, but it was still slipping off afterwards. I took it to another dealership and somehow they managed to get it tight. It was almost as if the part that clamps around the ribbed shaft was too big, and when even tightened all the way it still wasn't tight enough to grab the shaft tightly enough. I wish I knew what the answer was, but the second dealer took care of it for me and I haven't had another problem with it in three years.
