too much oil
I have a 2003 harley sporster xl1200c. i added too much oil, bike shut off on me, wont start now. please help.?

When the bike shut off on me I checked the oil tank and oil level it was really highthe oil was up to the top of the tank. I restarted it and I rode it a city.block. the engine wouldn't turn over after that. The next day I drained some oil, oil levelwas at midpoint. I checked the plugs, plugs looked fine. I checked the airfilter, there was some oil in it. I started it and it started but shut off again after one minute of idling with the choke on high. There wasn't no smoke coming from anywhere.

Engine breather possibly fired a bunch of excess oil into the air filter. Pull the filter out and clean or replace it. And pull spark plugs and clean them as they could have gotten oiled up too.
That's about the only damage too much oil can do.
