Garage Door Openers
Been awhile since I've been here, wrote about garage door openers. I was told to hook one up to the Hi-Beam wire and I was worried that it would run 12 volts all the time the Hi-Beam was on. Anyway, I didn't hook one up to the Hi-Beam and I didn't buy the H-D opener. What I did was get one of my genie openers, after removing the circuit board from the opener, I soldered all around the button that I was going to be using, then I soldered a wire on each side of the battery posts at the end of the circuit board, marking which one was pos. and which was neg. Then, I bought a push button switch from Radio Shack, drilled a hole thru my fairing, hooked it all up to my pos. and neg. side of the cigarette lighter, checked to make sure that I did it right, (I did) and put the fairing back on. It works great! Hope this helps anybody out there and saves them some money.........bob.
