My dad has a 1990 heritage softtail classic. He has had problem with the bike running bad. It will run fine for about ten minutes then it will start to idle ruff and not want to go. Then a little later it will run fine. He has changed a lot of things on it this is what I know he has changed. Ignition module, air fuel mixture, carburator, cleaned the gas tank, plug and wires, cleaned the fuel shut off. That's what I know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for ur time

 

The answer to your problems would be to find an experienced Harley mechanic and turn the bike over to him so he can troubleshoot the problem(s) you are experiencing. You will probably need to find an independent mechanic because the Harley dealers don't usually work on Harleys that are more than 10 years old.

 

Glad I read this thread..I didn't know about the Harley unwillingness to work on bikes older than 10 years..mine's a 9 right now, but I just bought it and want someone to give it a go-over and let me know if and what needs attention..right now it seems to be running great..
