I have a 2012 wide Glide that turned over hard on the air breather side. After I ride it for 10 or 20 minutes and stop to an idle, it will rev up to 12 or 1300 rpms. That is when it starts running rough at idle. Most times it will go dead when I try to give it the throttle. Also, when it starts, I have to keep revving it up and it acts like it wants to go dead or goes dead. It runs great after it's been sitting a while. Do you think putting it on that machine the Harley place has would diagnose the problem or just tell me to replace everything? Thanks very much for reading all this!

Reason: Making it shorter and to the point
I'd start by replacing everything.
j/k
Start with the basic stuff- check battery cables and ground connections, coil wires, spark plug boots, etc.
Did the bike throw any codes?
You can try cleaning the IAC with some throttle body cleaner spray. This would be my prime suspect from what you describe.
These bikes can also get pinholes in the internal fuel lines. When you prime the fuel pump you can hear gas hitting the inside of the tank, especially if there's only a gallon or so in it. Sometimes you can even see it with the gas cap off.
Tel me more about your build.... o you have a tuner like a Power Commander on it? Have yoo added something to it lately? What is not stock and how long has it been that way?
could indicate running out of fuel which would explain why it revs up before it dies as the mixture gets lean and also explains the difficult to start. Pinhole in fuel line, plugged fuel filter, bad fuel pump, plugged injectors.......
Do you hear the fuel pump run when you 1st cycle the ignition switch?
I don't know whether you got my reply because my computer went offline while I was sending my reply, but it stated I'd put some booster in it two times a month ago, so it might be clogged up.
