Default Crossbones problems

My 09 crossbones with open primary was running great last night but when we headed home it started running like s *^t. It has no baffle so it's always loud, but it started skipping and backfiring. It runs like its dirty, I can only describe it like it seems its got dirty fuel running through it. I only use premium and had filled up yesterday morning, no problems all day. Any help would be appreciated, I'm not sure what it could be.

Pull your spark plugs to see if its running lean or rich. If it's carbon fouled, which I suspect, your bike has an air leak somewhere. I would check for air leaks at the intake manifold and exhaust ports. There is a helpful section at this link on how to read plugs: www.nightrider.com

Sorry, I forgot to mention my Softtail ran like **** a few years back and the cause was a dead cell in my battery. So, make sure you get your battery load tested.

Makes sense. If O2 sensors are out, they are not communicating with ECM for air/fuel mixture ratio. Hope that fixes it.

Should be o.k. Might want to re-map if you get any popping out of the exhaust.
