So I just bough this 09 sporty and it had some Screaming Eagle pipes on it. The pipes sounded weak in my opinion, so I removed the baffles, as well as the fiberglass and fabric stuff. They sound freakin awesome now! But I want to make sure I am not gonna jack anything up. The bike has the Power Commander V as well as a Screaming Eagle air filter. I will probable get the Big Thunder Monster baffles to replace them if I need to, but honestly I dont mind the extra loud for a while! Its my first Harley and I love the bike and the beefy throaty growl!
So do I need baffles? Will I hurt anything without (besides ears)? Do you have to retune the fuel injector if you make exhaust changes? It has been done once before I got it. It does pop like crazy comin off the throttle, sounds like a 10guage, but as much as I love it I dont want to screw suff up. Lastly, is anyone running the Big city monster baffles for the Screaming Eagle pipes? Are they aggressive? All right thanks guys.
Yeah I took it for a long ride today, and it runs great. Not noticing any power loss like some has warned in the low and mid range. It does like POP like a freakin shotgun tho! Not a backfire, just a pist of pop pop pop...
So do I need to re-tune the PC after changing the exhaust then? I did just order some of the thunder torque inserts from DK customs per Kevin's advice. He said I wont loose volume, but gain torque and HP, exactly what I want!
