I just picked up some "Mothers" California Gold chrome polish. I tried it out on part of the bumper of the work truck I have to drive and I'm very impressed. The area I tried it on had rust stains on it and they're gone now and that spot shines like new. This is what I'll be using on my bike.

Once you get them clean get some wax on them. I always go with the 3 coats of wax method. Makes washing a breeze and protects my investment.

Is there a good way to clean the spokes and hubs without taking the wheels off the bike? Those areas are a booger to get to.

I was wondering if the old "floppy thingy on a drill" trick would work.

I'm definitely looking into this option!

no doubt. The spokes and hubs on the bike I just bought, knowing it needed a good cleaning, are gonna be a sob to get to. I rather not take the wheels off as I am the unofficial Tim the Toolman and could mess up about anything I try to get mechanical on LOL

I always hated getting between the spokes but maybe the idea with some sort of drill extension would work best.

I have used Fritz before its great stuff!

@Odin, what would you seal your wheels with after you cleaned them with your method?
A lot of people use different things, and I'm sure many are great. I have been using good old lemon pledge. Bike smells good too!

Get yourself a mechanics stool and a motorcycle jack and use some shoe laces like Odin510 mentioned.

I did the shoestring trick while the bike was on the back of the truck. That works awesome as I used Turtle Wax Chrome Cleaner and shoestrings. Those hubs and upper parts of the spokes is what I am talking about. I will scratch my head and think of something to use for the hubs. Pretty sure I can get the upper spokes with a lot of effort. I definitely need a jack.
