I remember and thanks for jogging my memory. I think I can find some of those fat and long shoelaces, weight an end and put cleaner in the middle of the lace....boom.....enough length to maybe work.

WD40 and 4A steel wool works great for rust in general.

^Bingo!!! #0000 steel wool to get the rust and debris off, then luster lace or similar to polish them...then a good coat (or coats) of wax to make the next cleaning a breeze.

I just use the HD spoke brush.. with some degreaser, then hose them off and dry.

#0000 steel wool every once in a while, someone on this board mentioned using a swiffer duster w/ water, works great!!! Even use it for the motor/oil tank area:

I had one of those wheel Dolly's ...it lets you rotate the wheel without moving the bike for easy wheel cleaning. It was cheap too...20 bucks or so. I use a mc lift now.
