DONT MISS THE TUNNEL OFF TREES ITS JUST ABOUT HALF HOUR SOUTHWEST OF MAKINAW CITY ITS ON THE BLUFFS ALONG THE SHORES OF LAKE MICHIGAN AND LOOK OUT FOR THE DEER
Just beware of the lack of street signs through Chicago's southeast side. Most of the street name signs don't get bothered, but the 14/41 signs get stolen often enough. Run a separate mapquest from the Indiana border to the south end of Lake Shore Drive and keep it in your pocket. The go one block down this side street, turn on another side street for a block, turn again, etc. get confusing without the "Circle Tour" or federal signs.
The Lake Express IS cool, but very pricey. I took the bike on it this past summer and the total cost was for me and the bike was $120 one-way from Muskegon, MI to Milwaukee. It's about a 2 1/2 hour ride. Food/snacks are pretty pricey onboard, too. Don't know about drinks, as I'm a non-drinker. You are responsible for tying down your own bike...they will not help you secure your bike. They DO supply the rachet tie-downs, though. Once the ferry starts moving, you are not allowed down in theparking deck, so be sure to bring everything you needor want, with you up on the main deck.

Wow!! That is pricey!! The Tobermory Ferry here in Ontario is about a 2 hour run across Lake Huron, and tho the food and snacks,(and beer) are expensive, its only about $25 bucks 1 way for a bike and 1 rider.
