Just my opinion but you are within forty miles or so from some of the best rideing in the state when you want to go on a nice 350 to 400 mi ride let me know and I will hook you up with some good rides.
The wife is from Milwaukee, and it is an awesome town! Great riding exists to the west (south of Madison), and also heading north towards Steven's Point. The riders are for real... hell, they got the factory right there, so pride runs high.
Milwaukee has no riding this time of year . But when it warms up so does everything else around here. Lots of great riding , Mississippi river area ,Door county ,Take the ferry across to michigin and travel the great lakes .
Lots of places to ride outside of Milwaukee.. Also you are see both kinds of riders, yuppies and true riders. Everyone is friendly and alot of groups and events.. Next year there is a big Harley rally in Milwaukee, WI.
I live just NW of Milwaukee. There are tons of quiet roads to ride. Check out the Kettle Moraine, Door County, Holy Hill area, the UP in MI is closer than you think as well. Got the 105th and the HOG 25th both here in 2008.
Lived an hour north of Milwaukee between West Bend and Fond du Lac, loved it there. Great roads to ride and the people are nice and friendly. If you don't mind snow and ashort riding season it's a great place to live.
They have Summerfest in the summer, it's a week of concerts with 10? stages set up. Beer, bikesand brats what more could you want from a city?
Oh ya, tornados come thru that area every summer it seems. Lived there for 4 years and we went into the basement once every summer, closest one was a mile from the house.
The only reason we moved was to go back to our hometown where my wife and I had family.
