Sidecar

Check out Hannigan sidecars, the flip-open top makes it easy for the dogs to hop in and out. www.hannigantrikes.com
Our dogs loved to ride in it.
Also, check out www.sidecar.com. , the United Sidecar Association, lots of good info there.

I can't speak for other brands, but on ours - my wife has a Hannigan on her FLHT, and I had one on my Road Glide, It's not a big deal to remove and replace. Initial set-up and alignment takes a while, but once it's set up, it's four bolts, one electric plug and one quick disconnect for the brake to remove the sidecar. It takes me about half an hour to take it off and about an hour to put it back on. That's after doing it a couple times. Some of the mounting hardware stays on the bike. I built a simple wooden dolly on wheels to hold and move the sidecar when not on the bike. There is a sub-forum here for sidecars here too.

Put your dog in a tank bag or on the seat behind you.
It's a no deal for me, I like to lane split.
I'd get a Ural if I had to have one for an occasional toy.

Neither myself or my wife have any problem switching between riding on two wheels to driving the hack. It does eliminate lane splitting though.
