I know the post is subjective, here's my story...I have a 2014 Ultra Limited, on my Bucket List is a 7000 mile trip cross-Country. I always had hopes of doing it by bike but as I (and the bike) get older I'm realizing that might not be possible so my next option is to trailer to destinations and spend some time at each, I'm allotting about 2 months for the trip. A bunch of years ago I bought new a Diamond Cargo 6'X10' but had to sell (should have kept it) to make room for another toy trailer. I towed my bike from NY to Florida, NY to Maine and it worked well. So I'm looking for a single bike trailer to make my trip. Any that I should stay away from, any that are considered the best? I'd prefer enclosed to keep spying eyes away but might consider an open trailer too. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, thank you.
I suspect you've found a trailer by now but I'll share my experience. Last year, I posed a similar question. with a similar story for transporting my Freewheeler. Cost and space were my biggest challenges. A big box trailer would serve a lot of wants, but no convenient place to keep it. Online I found a person within 100mi. who builds trailers as a side hustle. I drove out and looked at a couple of samples of his work and discussed my specific needs. He had ideas and knowledge that I didn't and I ended up having him build me a trailer that exceeded my plans for considerably less money than I expected to pay. The trailer is a 6',X10' flat deck with a full width ramp tailgate and a 4" dropped 3klb axle. I park it in my garage and drive my trike directly on and off after every outing. As mentioned before, it makes safety checks and servicing much easier. FWIW - I am very happy with my trailer and I couldn't have done better within my price range. There is risk and wait time when creating a "homemade" trailer but with some diligence and luck, you can have the best trailer for you.
I just bought a zpro rampless trailer that you crank down flat to the ground and just ride on.
Just received yesterday and loaded up my snow blower to take to storage for a little test run.
Came back home loaded bike up and put in garage. It also works as a lift table now to.
How do you like the ZPRO trailer? Are you still happy? Thinking of getting one for our FLS and FLHXS.
The Kendon trailer that I have is wonderful for loading my heavy bike. As you ride your bike onto the trailer the suspension compresses under the weight of the bike, virtually eliminating the ramp-to-trailer apex. Once the bike is loaded, the suspension rebounds back up and levels the trailer.
This also lessens the "short-leg" effect at the beginning/bottom of the ramp whenever the bike is at the midway point upon mounting the ramp with the bike.
It would seem that the MCZ trailer (in post #7) would have a very pronounced "short-leg" effect as you rode up the angle of the bed.

I love this trailer, Can load it and unload it in just a few minutes. Sunny the owner of Zpro is great to work with, I mentioned getting a spare hub when i took delivery just incase something happened on the road,
A couple days later a new hub was delivered in the mail at no cost. Can't beat that.

No angle to ride up the trailer cranks down totally flat on the ground while loading and unloading.
Check out youtube they have videos of the zpro trailers.
A friend of mine is on his second ZPRO. the first was a 2-bike standard one... the new one is a 2-bike with a frame built over it that he attaches his roof-top tent onto. The tent, in addition to giving him sleeping quarters, protects his bike from hail to a degree. I had an open utility trailer for my bike for years but changed to a basic enclosed 7x12 simply to protect the bikes.
Sorry, I kinda lost touch with this thread after I posted it. First off, thanks to all for all the advice and information. After mulling it over for awhile, I ordered an Ironhorse single-bike trailer, it is currently being built down in Tennessee and I'll be picking it up sometime in March. I really wanted an enclosed trailer and something not too big and the Ironhorse should fit in my garage when not in use. It's certainly not the cheapest but arguably one of the best. I looked at one that a fellow rider from a neighboring town has and it checks all the boxes for me. Thanks again to all...

Thank you. We got one and it is great. Sonny is also great. Looking forward to using it this weekend...
Saw this utility trailer the other day on Craigslist for a good price. I had to buy it. Sidecar rig will fit with a few inches to spare on each side. Sure wish spring would arrive. Looks like a few days of sun coming, and then more rain/snow.
I feel like I got burned from Diamond Cargo. I purchased a very nice, well built expensive new dual axle trailer that I used to drive an hour each way to pick my new Harley from a dealer. The trailer was then parked at my home 6 months and didn't move from the driveway.
Then I decide to pull the trailer and bike for a 2 week vacation. I drive 2 hours and my lights stop working blowing fuses in my new truck! I replace the fuse it keeps blowing. The brake lights / flashers work but no running lights on the trailer, so I had to drive all night with flashers on.
Diamond cargo won't do a thing as I failed to send my warranty card in or register my warranty! The trailer was still under a year from the Manufacturing date but nope would not do a thing as you are required to register the warranty! Diamond Cargo should have based my warranty off the date the unit was built!
My lights still don't work and I have no idea how to even start figuring out what is wrong and how to fix it and I was not even offered a suggestion of what I could do to fix it when I talked in detail with Diamond cargo! I had a bill of sale from a dealer but nope no help at all!
