Default Lower rear mount location on a EG/Ultra?

Curious for those with hacks on their bikes. I just got my parts to attach my Hannigan to my Ultra. The lower rear mount u-bolts to the frame down toward the footboard. In this position, the cover will have to be modified (or left off). It seems like this would expose the ECM and plug area to the elements. How do you guys handle this? I hate to think of the ECM plug being battered by rain if I get caught in it. I don't mind the rain myself, but don't think the connections would appreciate it.

I don't think I would like the idea of riding in rain with the cover off. I've never looked at Hannigan mounts very closely to see how they mount, but you might want to check with the company to see if they have a different type of mount for your Ultra. Mine (HD) is mounted under the passenger floorboard and it don't interfere with the cover at all. Maybe Hannigan has something that would be about the same. Good luck.

A neighbor has a Hannigan on his 06 Ultra and the whole side cover is intact. I can't remember how it all hooks up but I know one of the mounts is very close to the cover because I had to pull it so I could hook up his SERT and map the ecm.

Finished mounting the frame this weekend - thanks to msocko3 for the pictures to clear up the lower mount question. Got a 5 mile ride with it Friday - interesting ride! Got some right side pull to deal with. Not a bunch, but I'll see if I can tune it out with a little more lean angle. Now to get the brake and electrics hooked up so I can get the body attached.

Sounding great. Too much toe-in will cause pull to the right also. I put the toe-in on mine to less than 1/2 inch and the lean angle almost straight up.
Keep tryin', you'll get it. Just takes a little while.
