When I drove a a dump truck for my buddy , Gross weight was the total weight of the truck and load, Net weight was the load itself. Not sure how Harley got such a low net weight for the side car?
So what is the weight? 66 lbs? Heck if I knew that I would of taken a pass on it as that is useless.
My 58 BMW Spezial Sidecar with the rubber band suspension handeled 200lbs w/no problem...

You know how the heck do you get in the car? I see the step but where its it at seems pretty useless. FWIW I have the windshield on mine perhaps taking that off would help? Then you have to put it back on once in the car?
My wife has also found the step useless and yes, the TLE is difficult to get in and out of. Everyone wants to grab the windshield and it is only held on by some small screws.I would love to see someone come up with a door conversion.
Or even a windshield that folds forward like the BMW Spezial car. A door would be great but I suspect that it would weaken the tub.

No need to remove the windshield. Normally, I stand on the left side of the bike and reach across and grab her right hand to help her balance. She puts her right foot on the step, stands up and puts her left foot onto the seat, swings her right foot in, turns and sits on the top of the seat back, puts both feet in the floor, and then slides down.
If I'm not there helping, same thing with the feet, but she places her left hand on the seat back and right hand across to the padding on the left side of the hack.
Either way, it takes longer to explain it that it takes for her to get in.
