Hacked, Conversions and Trailering"Harley Sidecar, Conversion Trikes and Motorcycle Pull Behind Trailering Enthusiasts"
A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
Read the reviews and those that use it behind theyre bike say minus a few things you have to do to improve what the builder didnt do, its a great trailer. If I ever need a trailer I would consider this one
I looked at this trailer too....somebody gave me a carrier though so i will modify a cheaper one and use it....i think i will put ait bags on it to smooth the ride...
If your states require a registration plate on trailers, you should check with you DOT to check just what all is required to license these. I was given one with a four wheeler I bought that had never been titled. What a PITA is was in Pa to reg this thing.
I was one of the people who reviewed this trailer and I already have 2500 or so miles on it and it is working out very nicely for the cost (I also used a 20% off coupon) and it was on sale at my local store and for the money I have to say it can't be beat....Yes there is much nicer units out there but at 10x the cost or even 5x the cost I just have a hard time justifying that....now if my wife and I start touring alot more I will look at getting a bushtec or such but until then my tag-a-long trailer is working out just fine.
Just bought one $143.oo had the 20% and it was on sale for $179.00
I just purchased the same one you did, for the same price. The trailer I have. The torsion springs on it were shot. The trailer would start an almost uncontrollable sway, making the trike handle weird. I bought that HF one for the axle and leafs. I had to shorten the axle's length by 3 & 1/2 inches to fit my trailer. Just to warn you. Where the axle lines up on that little **** on the leaf spring. One of the recess holes on the axle was not centered. Had I not seen this and put it together. My trailer would have dog tracked behind me and the wheel would not have been in the center of the wheel well opening. Make sure you check yours. I also switched the axle to the top of the leaf. Instead of the bottom like the instructions said too. The body would have been way too high over the wheels. Ive got 14" rims on mine. I'll have it finished tomorrow.
