Hacked, Conversions and Trailering"Harley Sidecar, Conversion Trikes and Motorcycle Pull Behind Trailering Enthusiasts"
A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
I have just ordered a new Tri Glide and the dealer tells me I should upgrade the cams. Is this necessary on a new trike? It is a 2012 and to be delivered in March. Any help would be appreciated.
Guess it depends on what kind of performance you want, and what kind of riding you are doing. Two up loaded heavy in the mountains and a cam might be handy.
My wife has a 2012 and solo, loaded for travel it has plenty of power even in the mountains. It won't streak around cars in 100 ft. but it pulls very well. The 103 inch along with the lower gearing that the tri-glide has makes a good combination.
Thanks for the quick responses. Most of the riding is in the flatland with some Canadian Rocky Mountains thrown in. It is usually 2 up and loaded (I'm sure with the extra cargo space the wife will now be able to take along the kitchen sink too). I just want to be sure that there is enough power for the highway and some of the hills, speed is not an issue, 65-70 mph usually.
