Default Spring Value

I'm thinking of trading my Street 750 but am evaluating what it might be worth in the spring (2018).
Bike: 2016 XG750 Vivid black, Firebrand slip-on, digital add on tachometer and only 400 miles on it. It sits in my walk out basement under a cover as a basically new bike. Just don't care to ride it. It might see another 100 miles by spring. Do you think it'll be worth $5000 in the spring? I know there's no way to accurately tell but I don't want to hold onto it if the value will plummet. Thanks for your insight!

Check out Kelley Blue Book when you get ready to sell. Right now, for my area (Alabama) the values are $6,030 retail (dealer) and $4,390 trade-in. Since you really don't have any add-ons with value (i.e. windshield, engine guards, custom seat, saddlebags, etc.), you would be lucky to get more than $4,500. Also, if you are trading in, the add-ons don't add any value at the dealer.

Thanks. I've actually had it up for sale for a few weeks now for $5K but I'm not even getting any offers. I'm afraid by spring I won't get but $4K for it selling it outright. Hope it's just the wrong time of year.

Right now in Vermont bike prices are dropping like rocks. I bought my Tu250X brand new in October last year for $3500 Tax, Title the whole nine so the dealer could make room for the newer models. I just bought an 81 GS750E that runs for $100. I'm finding stellar deals right now for no one is buying, especially since it was 38' on my ride in this AM. Most that's the end of the season, I'll push till the snow flies but that's me.

You should fetch better coin in the Spring. Early Summer is the best time. Around here the week of Americade is the best time to sell which is the first week of June.

The Street is not doing well on resale. A while back I picked up a 2015 with 323 miles on it for Cheap and that was from a HD dealer.
They may rebound in time.

The smarter thing would be to wait until spring, though I've never been accused of being smart. Just a wee bit impatient. Actually considering trading for a Ninja 300. Got my Lowrider S for my Harley fix but I do miss those little high rev bikes

Life is too short for just 1 bike in the stable, I ride +20K miles every year and i firmly believe a 250cc bike is a great addition to an expert motorcyclist's line up (well to anyone that doesn't have gentile size complex).

The new 300's are very nice. But the TU250 with it's DR derived "Thumper" does ALLOT of things well. I; camp, tour, commute, dual sport, snow blast and even yard chores such as haul brush & rocks with it... It's quite literally a do-it all bike and in an end of the world scenario the only bike I'd want. I do everything with it!! AND it will run on $5 of 87 gas for just about forever...

The 250 Class of bike is the WORLDS biggest seller... They wear allot of hats great and sip gas while they do it. It's the only way I can ride year round here in VT!

Just get the Ninja already

TU250's are cool bikes. I've had 4 Ninja 250's in the past so I think it's high time for a 300. They're trying to get me to go 66 months. I said 60 and it's a deal. No response yet. The guy was pretty accurate at saying he doubts he'll even be able to sell the Street 750. At least not until spring.

I ride my last gen 250 a lot. A 60 month loan to buy one doesn't sound like any fun though. Why don't you keep your 750 H-D and ride the crap out of it while you save for the 300. (I've heard rumours of a 400 soon)

I ride my Lowrider most times. Whenever I ride the street I'm just underwhelmed. I'll probably just try to sell the street in the spring.
