This guy is amazing. A trip around the world on a 2001 Yamaha R1. 145'000 miles in that kind of terrain, and still the original engine. That bike has seen some ROUGH times that's for sure.

This is not the first time he did it. He did it on an old Honda CBR 900RR too. Not the best bikes for touring, and he's not young either.My favorite part is when the bike is filled with water and he turns it over a couple of times and it just comes to life, water flowing out of the pipe. Also pretty funny to see an R1 stuck in the mud deep in the jungle. I would say this is some good advertisement for Yamaha.

1) I would have used a BMW dual sport.[sm=sorry.gif]
2) Does anyone know if that is a gas tank on back, and the crew is hauling the gear (or vice versa)? Cause its not really solo if you have a van full of stuff(or gas) behind you.[sm=nono.gif]
3) If this is his job, it looks like a great business trip![sm=icon_rock.gif]

That looks like fun. I saw the Ewan MacGregor movie Long Way Round where they did it on Bmw's.
It still was tough on those bikes, and they only did half of the world I think...
