Default Pitch a fit?????

folks not looking to start trouble but I started lookin for the mascot long ago - even have a thread of mine up top "where is the mascott" - the way it looks, the flag is becoming a item destin to travel by rally destination - I may be wrong but minimal mention of it heading toward the northeast - someone mentioned wouldn't it be cool to have pics of the mascott from the ocean - coast to coast - I can make it happen off Montack point LI with all the HDF riders down there, one lives around the block from my inlaws -

No disrespect to Skold but since you became Moderator, a thankless job by the way and one I am glad you steped up to the plate for, but the schedual - seems driven by Rallies and in my opinion it stinks - why push to get to sturggies? - the midwest rally - ok - lots of HDF folks there but now that it has made it cross country to the east, SEND IT NORTH and keep it moving - it seems to have been parked for a few weeks now - my .02
\
Institute a maximum hold time - mabe two weeks tops??? - accounts for weather - don't take it if ya can't move it

Again - not looking to start anything - but it seams to be stuck again

I agree. If we can get it to rallies great but it should not be the main focus of the Mascot. The intent of the Mascot was to get members to meet and ride together. I do think we need to get it to the HDF Rally since that is a HDF function . But we should not skip members who want to meet and carry the mascot in order to get it to major rallies.

The Mascot will not go back out West until it gets up the East Coast. We are going to have it at Myrtle Beach so that a lot of members can see it. Then it will take a detour to Illinois for the June 17th HDF Rally. I will then make sure it heads back East to where it left off after the Rally. It might not make it to Sturgis this year. You have to remember that we have almost 11,000 members now and a lot of them want the Mascot. It's just not possible to get it to everyone during one riding season.

Be patient, it will get to you.

I TOTALLY agree Heather!!!

HDF Rally for sure!!!

Sturgis IS the "Granddaddy of all rallies" and my .02 is...

SEND IT TO STURGIS.

Not just because I'M (and MANY other members are going) but I'm sure we'll have many members there that would love to see the Forum having a real tangible sign of the Forum present at THE BIGGEST BIKE RALLY in the country.

Again though, I totally agree (with my limited knowledge and experience here at HDFoums) that this SHOULD NOT BE RALLY FOCUSED and it should be as you've mentioned.

BUT, c'mon,,,,

It should not be at the "BIKERS MECCA"?????

I, for one, think it should for at least a couple of days and moved on TOTALLY UP NORTH during the summer months.

(thats just my opinion and you know what they say about those....LOL)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read the "MASCOT CONCERNS" thread and I HAD NO IDEA this thing was sooooooo heated...LOL!!!

When I first posted about this,,, the mascot was almost lost and stayed in the same place for,,,like,,,4 months,,,,NO BIG DEAL.

Now it is and if it does not make it HERE to Indiana or for Sturgis...

OK!! LOL!!!

I'm going to Sturgis anyway and meeting alot of fellow members.

You guys can decide where it goes.... I'll be around if it gets around here though and help where I can

The way to get it to Sturgis is to have someone at the last stop (lets say it is in Northern Ohio) take it to Sturgis and then bring it back to start where it left off. You could stop on the way to and from to meet members not going to Sturgis. You could post your stops along the way so members could meet you. After Sturgis it would continue it's original route.

I don't want it to go from Maryland to Sturgis and then have it stay in the West. We would bypass too many members who have waited to carry it. Same thing for the Midwest Rally. If it's in Charleston, W. Va. when the time gets near we'll just have someone bring it West towards Illinois and have someone pick it up to transport it to Illinois. Then I will make sure it gets back to where it needs to go.

It's worth the detours to let as many members as possible see the Mascot. Let's not get our panties in a bunch over something that was designed to bring us together. What I've found is that anyone who has had to deal with the Mascot and the members complaining about the Mascot has lost interest in trying to coordinate it. This includes the original founders of the idea.

The northeast is next after Myrtle Beach in the scheme of manuver. So I suggest that those of you in the New England States who want the Mascot speak up now and lets get a plan in place to hit New England before we move it west for the Mid-West Rally.
