2008 Ultra Classic Stage 1.
I installed a PV-1 about 2 months ago and ran several autotunes to the base map provided. I must say the bike runs great but I noticed I feel more heat riding to and from work. Even in the cooler temps of late. I went to the Texas Hill Country this weekend and it ran so hot I could smell the engine. I killed the engine several times and it had a very high idle. Around 2000. I assume this is due to excessive heat. My question is, am I too lean and how can I correct it. I am an PV amateur. Thanks.
2008, 96 in or 103 in? To see your Fuel tables you need to hook the PV up to your computer. You get the tune from the PV on the computer and then you can look at and change your AFR's.
A sometimes 2000 rpm idle is a good indication that the engine is lean. If you have used an auto tuner, evidently the target AFR was set too lean. You want the target to be in the 13 to 13.5 range, not the 14.7 that many auto tune systems seem to default to. Change the tune before you damage your engine.
