Hi. I hope I'm doing this right. First time posting.Been riding for 30 years and have installed pipes and stage one myself three times so far. My question is with rinehart extreme duals and 4" mufflers and using v&h fp3 is anyone having trouble with this set up to? These duals are a 2" stepped headers. V@h fp3 doesn't have an exact map for this called them several times with not all that much luck. I've done the auto tune twice now and no help, even worse. After a third call they told me that my pipes are a poor design which contradicts all the great reviews on the rinehart set up I have?? They also admitted the with the fp3 it would be hard to get a good tune with how close my o2 sensors are. All I want them to do is give me a credit to directcycle parts.com and buy the dynojet power vision which rinehart told me they have a map for the stepped headers. Seems I'm getting the run around from v&h. Any thoughts or help on this I would appreciate. I forgot to mention that on the fist call v&h told me my pipes are to free flowing and I should try to get a quiter baffle. Rinehart doesn't have that so I ended up talking to Big City Thunder, Jim is great there, and I installed the QQ baffle in the head pipe which gave me more tourqe a lower rumble and back pressure and flashed a different tune on the fp3 which helped a lot but still getting a stumble at 2000 to 2300 rpm especially in 4 th and 5th gear. Again thanks for any help.
Can probably help. If the VE table has a horizontal axis using throttle position, high lite the cells from one row below 2000 to 2500 from 10% throttle to 100% and increase the numbers 3 to 5%. If it uses axis based on Map go from same rpms from 35% to 100%. Another quick and dirty method would be to highlight the entire ve front and rear tables and increase the complete table 5% as the extreme duals need to be rich to run. You can also add more timing in certain areas and help too. I don't believe you can send a map to me as you are a new member and have to have so many posts to be able to view or send files. I don't think you can pm either. If you can send me a pm with your email address and I will look at your map. You can post your email address if you want and I will send you my email. It is fixable problem. I do have the software for the FP3 but don't think I have the maps.
I looked at a map in the demo mode and it was very lean in the area you are having the trouble in. It was also throttle position based. It leaned out from 1625 to 2250 from 15% to 100%. I would just make the front and rear at least 5% more in the entire area. Probably going to be difficult to make these changes all at once. I finally got it to work by touching the 1st point and the last point to change and then changed the % to 5 and it worked. Making changes with the phone sort of sucks.
Hey guys. I really apprieciate the responses. What you both said makes sence. Fortunately V&H is taking care of me after a small battle. They will send me a new one so I can send my married one back to them and send the new one to direct cycle parts for a credit towards the dyno vision power vision. Dynojet assured me that they will walk me through the process and set me up with a custom map for th extreme duals. As a first time poster it was really cool to have two responses in a short period of time. I hope I can help someone out soon as well. Thanks again
is it possible to send me the software for fp3 it would help alot . thank you.
The software is an app on your phone that you use to update the FP3. Very difficult to use to make large scale changes. As far as I know Vance and Hines is the only one that can change the tune and send it back to you. One reason I would have one even for free.
