Surging at Idle
Allright guys here are the particulars: 96 FLHRI (EFI)with 23k, stock engine and slip on pipes(don't know the brand) Recently, after the bike warms up, perhaps after a 20 min ride the throttle willseem to stick open and the engine will race. When I park the bike and leave it running it will Idle for a whilethen the engine willstart to race. It may startto slowdown and then begin to race again. All this occurs while it is parked. The bike starts fine andidles fine when cold but it starts to surge afterabout 10-20 mins of running time.

Thanks for the tip.I have been chasing this problem for a while without thinking about the ET sensor being bad. Will let you know how it checks out

Just got off the phone with thedealer and sure enoughitwas a badEngine Temp Sensor. Couldn't wrench thatone myself but sure did learn a bit inthe process. Thanks for the help.
