Surging ...
if the bike is surging at cruz...(part throttle) ...you are on the slow/pilot jet and the jetting is too lean ...move up to the next jet size ,,,,readjust the mixer screw at a warm idle ...keeping the idle steady , should end up about 1-1.5 turns out ...then ride it the same way to see if there is any improvement ....

i run a .020" over ,10.25:1 EVO ported heads 590 cam and have tried the single fire ignition from Crane (HIE4) that has 9 different advanve cruves in it ...and i'll tell you now that the bike will slow down w/ that ignition because advancing the curve is not what you want to do ...using the Screaming Eagle plug and play ignition module and the bike will do just that SCREAM....because it retards the ignition as much has 10 degrees on the top end ....try it ...you like it !!! i use the 7 pin and you can still find the 7 and 8 pin modules on ebay ....

Hi, I have a 2000 Heritage Springer, 88B motor. I am installing a Crane HI-4TC ignition, and was wondering, down the line, if I want to load a custom ignition curve, where is the 4 pin plug located ? Also, are all the cables: crane, DTT, and dyna the same ? Does anyone have a crane cable and software I can borrow for testing ?
