Is SERT dead?
I recently took my 2008 Harley Davidson to my local independent dealer for a new dyno tune due to adding new slip on pipes over the winter. My last dyno was in 2009 and almost 30,000 miles ago. The shop gave me unexpected news that they don't have my needed SERT software to support it? Their explanation was my tuner software was an early addition right before HD came out with Super SERT in 2008. And finding or locating the software is almost impossible (when I bought tuner all I was given was tuner box. No software). They can support any other SERT prior to the early 2008, but not my current one. I have no reason to doubt or question them due to they are a respectable shop and have an excellent reputation. And they've always treated me right. My only other option is A: buy a new tuner. B: Call my local HD dealership and see if they have proper software and let them do the dyno. C: Forget it and just keep riding since bike is running fine as is.
