How hard is this to use because the dealer tells me I have to bring it to them, I have a labtop computer?
I'am setting up some V&H pipes and a SE air box?
My bike is a 2008 Fxstc.
The laptop is only part of what you need. How about the software to communicate to the SERT and the maps. If you want the SERT you will need to take it to a dealer. Otherwise try a fuelpak or something that you can download a map from the internet to install into the controller. I think you can do that with a powercommder. I have a SERT but I had tuned on a dyno.
TTS, same guys who wrote the software for the SERT, but with the TTS you also get the programs etc so you can do your own downloading and tuning, so no need to go to dealer and pay again and again ...
I'll just say I have the SERT and yes a dnyo tune..paid $180 for the tune, it was @$60hr labor back then.
Ran perfect for 2yrs till I put in cams..
The dyno after the cam install was free as it was thrown in as part of the winter package cam deal last yr..cams, labor and dnyo for $795. I paid extra for new lifters because I had close to 16k on her at that time..
So, so far I've paid $180 for dynos.
Of course if U change Ur pipes or cams all the time then yeppers, dyno tunes are going to add up...
